Elba Island
Marina di Campo
Marina di Campo is one of the most famous towns on the island of Elba. It was the first place where tourism developed, thanks to its beautiful golden sandy beach and the surrounding pine forest. The picturesque historic center of Marina di Campo, with its watchtower from the Spanish period and the small port, from which granite extracted from the surrounding hills was once exported, frame the beautiful bay.
The town of Marina di Campo extends over a plain and is therefore very easy to explore on foot for families with children or strollers. A cycle path has been created to get safely from one side of the bay to the other. In addition, the characteristic historic center and the small port are closed to traffic and can be inhabited at any time of the day.
In summer, shops and boutiques are open every evening until late at night, the seafront is full of stalls and all kinds of events take place.
Marina di Campo is located at the foot between the mountains of Monte Capanne and Monte Perone, which invite hikers to follow the well-marked paths, surrounded by the scent of the Mediterranean scrub, and to explore the small mountain villages such as San Piero and Sant’Ilario.
Thanks to its central location, some of the most famous and beautiful beaches of the island (Cavoli, Fetovaia, Seccheto) or the coasts of the north side can be easily reached in a few minutes by car.
From the port of Marina di Campo, excursions to the island of Pianosa and boat trips along the south coast of the island depart.
The airport is just a few kilometers from the village.
