The Marina di Campo beach
Marina di Campo has the longest sand beach (1,850 meters) on the Island of Elba; it slopes gently into the water, with several shallows, making it the preferred beach for families with children.
It faces the Marina di Campo Gulf, at the centre of the southern coast of Elba, with the Island of Montecristo on the horizon and affected only by southern winds.
The Marina di Campo coast is divided among free beaches and bathing establishments with a variety of bars and restaurants so you do not have to leave the beach for snacks or meals: the beach offers a variety of opportunities to sports lovers: three diving centres, sailing school, windsurf rental and schools, boat and pedal boat rental, guided kayak excursions.
A marvellous grove of cluster pines surrounds half of the granitic sand beach.
Just in front of the Hotel dei Coralli, following the path that crosses the pine forest, you reach the sea, where, beyond the free beach, there are two bathing establishments.
There are two nearby bays: Galenzana (sand) and Capo Fonza (pebbles). Both can be reached either by sea (even by pedal boat or canoe) and by foot, following one of the well-marked trails that take you through the Mediterranean maquis with splendid views of the Marina di Campo bay.
